SALES TEAM

Our Sales Team are a group of  Australian women between the ages of 35 and 55 who operate under the close eye of the company’s director and manager, Gai Hook. Each member of the team have a vast background in Sales and Management and understand the challenges and hard work it takes to create opportunities and new business. Their ability to communicate and understand business in general, no matter what the industry sector or size, and the insight to perceive and identify with the client are attributes necessary to being part of the Virtual Sales Strategy team. 

GAI HOOK

Gai’s desire to learn from others has given her the knowledge and creativity to succeed in a career spanning more than 35 years in “business to business” sales management. Whether the sales process is implemented face to face, through direct mail or by telephone, Gai believes that relationship based sales, combined with tactics and strategy, have been the driving force behind the success of her own personal sales targets and that of the teams she has managed. In fact ten years within the head office of Australia Post Sales and Marketing during the 90’s provided a platform for many of the basic principles she adheres to today. 

Gai’s own Virtual Sales Strategy team of Telesales and Customer Service consultants was born through her inability to access a personalised, sales orientated service not provided through Telemarketing Call Centres.  As Gai quotes “telemarketers are purely there to qualify databases for sales people to utilise, but they are so often used to sell products and services themselves without the expertise to do so”. 

During the last ten years prior to setting up Virtual Sales Strategy in 2008, Gai was Exhibition Manager for many large scale exhibitions and trade shows held at Convention Centres around Australia. Her time with Reed Exhibitions and Expertise Events highlighted a need for many small businesses to be educated, not only on research and applying sales strategy prior to show campaigns, but also on the basic sales process itself. Utilising available marketing tools, successfully generating new leads and recording those leads on a working database for future follow up, were not being practiced by many businesses. Exhibitor planning is one of many strategic services Gai enjoys providing through Virtual Sales Strategy. 

Gai is also passionate about Online Marketing and Database Management and combines three decades of developing her sales and analytical skills with Certificates in Direct Marketing and Database Management (ADMA) and Account Management Strategy (AIM). As Sponsorship Manager for Viteknologies, Gai was responsible for the optimisation and negotiation of online sponsorship which honed her skills in CRM/Web based applications and the ability to utilise the internet to draw the right ‘traffic’ or target market to her clients.
